WORKSHOP PROGRAMME FOR 2012 and GIFT VOUCHERS

We are pleased to offer the following programme of events for the coming year and the chance to buy Gift Vouchers that can be used for plant sales or workshop purchases.

The 2012 events are spilt into Open Days, Afternoon Workshops and Day Long Workshops.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Open Days have no restrictions on numbers, however Day Long and Afternoon Workshops do so book early!

Listed are the dates individuals can attend but the workshops can be repeated for groups of five people or more. This may be more suitable for gardening clubs or groups of individuals that would like to attend on different dates. As in 2011 for group bookings you get three workshops (of the same type) for the price of two!

CHARITY EVENT – Open Day

We do this every year and the turnout is always large! All entrance gate proceeds go to a charity (we have not decided which one this year- if you have any ideas please get in touch!). There will be talks on Gardening, Flowering Arranging etc and perhaps a little bit of light entertainment!

This workshop will focus on choosing types and varieties, finding the best locations, preparing, planting, pruning and aftercare. Bob Brooks is one of the province's leading authorities on roses and will be on hand to provide expert assistance.

Ballyrobert Cottage Garden and Nursery propagates and grows the bulk of the plants it sells. That is a lot of propagation! How do we do it?

This workshop is an opportunity to learn a range of propagation techniques, as utilised in our nursery, that can be used successfully in ones own garden. Those attending will also be shown how to deal with the critical early stages of growing on newly propagated plants including choice of compost and of growing location.
